Too lazy for Gina

OK, So this book was handed down to me by my sister in law who absolutely loved it, followed it to the letter and actually ended up buying 2 copies because she mislaid the first one.

One day I mentioned it to my friend who was on baby number two at this point and before I even finished the sentence she spat, 'BURN IT!' like some kind of possessed demon!

Woah!!!  Controversial, and I was about to find out why.

It hurts....

A year ago, we were reminded of how fragile life can be. We were reminded that nothing is a given, and in the blink of an eye, everything can be turned upside down.

Adult Meltdowns

We all love an Irrational Public Meltdown... dont we?!
I'm not talking about kids this time, I'm talking about us!

Its (NOT) easier second time around....

If you you ever hear someone say 'It's easier second time around' please ignore them. Its probably the same person who's baby slept through the night at 2 weeks old.

Post Natal Depression doesn't care.....

Its unforgiving, its sneaky, and at its worst, it can be life threatening.

It makes you think things you never thought you could. Things that are hard to say out loud because they are so off the wall, you wonder if you even thought them, or just imagined it.

Cantcopesville

Cantcopesville - (pron: cant-copes-ville)

Where you go when you just can't cope... With anything other than the daily grind.
It isn't exclusive to parents, it welcomes anyone who feels that their daily routine, has been.... Enough.

Crying toddler.... crying wife...

Today the husband came home to a crying toddler and a crying wife.

I thought these days were over.

Off to school....

She's going to school. *crying face*

Every time I think about it I get that stinging in my nose and behind my eyes, I cant believe how emotional I feel about it.

Maybe because she is my first born, maybe because she's a girl, maybe because she is an August baby so I feel I have had the minimum time with her, maybe because she has allergies..... or maybe all of the above, coupled with the fact that for the last 4 years she has been my first and last thought.

Fish fingers and fussy eaters....

Caught up on gogglebox the other night and saw the Hemsley sisters cooking up some home made fish fingers for kids.
Personally I was thinking... ok... why bother....but whatever.

Then they said they didnt have breadcrumbs so would be making a ground Almond and decassinated coconut crumb, with a hint of garlic.

What the hell?!?

Childbirth - it is, what it is

I just thought I would share my birthing experiences..... Why? I don't think we talk about them enough.

Let’s face it, it’s pretty rough, highly undignified and the majority of the time the focus is on your vajazzle.

However, childbirth is HUGE, it’s more than just waking up to the Facebook picture of a cute baby. The person who has given birth to that baby has been through hell.... literally blood, sweat and tears. It deserves recognition, not to be swept under the carpet.

Coming out of the social media closet......

Before I had kids I promised myself (like many others I’m sure) that I wouldn't turn into a social media mum bore. I mean.... don't these people have a life?! it’s all kids kids kids... yawn.

Then I realised.....

Why you can never prepare for parenthood.

'Parenthood is like looking both ways before crossing the road.... and getting hit by an Aeroplane'

I think this has to be the best description of parenthood I have come across so far.

It doesn't matter how many times you look both ways, or anticipate what's coming, you can never prepare yourself for the shitstorm that is about to hit you full on, and bulldoze you to the ground.

There is only one rule when it comes to preparing for parenthood... and that is.... you CAN'T prepare for parenthood.
